British Mark II, MK-II or MK-2 helmet with original interior, chinstrap and paint.
The interior is a MK-I marked “7” in reference to the size, “J.C.S. & W. Ltd” for the manufacturer J Compton Sons and Webb and “I 1938” for the Mark I model and the year of manufacture. This circular center variant was the first model used by the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) sent to France to assist the French until their withdrawal at Dunkirk.
The chinstrap is a MK-II marked “II/1938” in reference to the model and year of manufacture.
