Republic of Cuba. Armband of the Movement July 26. Cotton. The July 26 Movement (M-26-7) was a Cuban political and military organization created in 1953 to combat the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. It was led by Fidel Castro and assumed a left-wing nationalist and anti-imperialist ideology, vindicating the figure and ideas of José Martí. It was the most important organization among those that participated in the Cuban Revolution.
