Germany. Reproduction of the German Heer Officer’s Dagger, Wehrmacht. This piece is part of the first reproductions made in the immediate post-war period to supply the booming «war loot» market among American soldiers in Europe. The materials are practically identical to the original daggers from the Second World War but with small differences: the number of stripes on the Holler Solingen marking thermometer (it has 10 instead of 11 or more) and the eagle that does not coincide in all its details with that of this manufacturer’s model, among others. The quality is superior to later reproductions from the 70s (such as those manufactured by Marto) and they are usually sold as originals around the world.
