United States USA. World War II Victory Medal with origin box.
Decoration awarded by the US Army and Navy, created by law under Congress in mid-July 1945. It commemorates all active military personnel or reservists who served in the armed forces during World War II between the December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946.

This is a bronze medal. On the obverse, the figure of Nike is depicted holding a broken sword, symbolizing the collapse of Axis power, while stepping on the helmet of Ares, the God of War—representing the end of the conflict. In the background, the sun is rising, signifying the dawn of peace. The inscription «WORLD WAR II» is also present.
On the reverse side, the phrase «FREEDOM FROM FEAR AND WANT – FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION» appears, referencing President Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms. At the center is a laurel branch, and surrounding it is the inscription «UNITED • STATES • OF • AMERICA • 1941 • 1945».
