Spain. Railwayman’s badge. Period of the Second Republic and the Spanish Civil War. Model 1931. This model was used by the Railway Regiments. Silver-plated brass. It represents a 240-4001 Compound locomotive, manufactured by Worthington, which was used by the Northern Railway Company, popularly called Mastodon. The silver-colored examples were due to the fact that the Railway Regiments depended on the Corps of Engineers. In 1943, with the 1943 Regulations, the badges were gold, but the model remained the same.
