Austria/Germany. Model 1917 Transitional Austrian Helmet.
M17 helmet used during the First World War by the Austro-Hungarian Empire and reused in the 1930s by the German Police of the Third Reich, painting it black and placing two side decals on it (the decals are no longer preserved, but the shield shape where they had been located is).
The liner and chin strap are the Austrian model, made of leather.
Original Austrian helmet from World War I WW1, reused in World War II WW2.
